Reading Club
Reading Club |
The corrective reading program, Reading Club, at Richboro Elementary is a program that provides extra support in reading to students in grades K through 6. Students meet with the literacy specialist for 30-minute sessions in small groups 2-5 times per week during the regular school day. Reading Club helps students become more proficient readers. Students are not permanently placed in this program. Each child's growth in literacy development will determine the length of participation in the program. Depending on the grade level, Reading Club will provide activities in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. In addition to receiving further instruction in the skills and strategies appropriate for the grade level, students will be encouraged to develop a positive attitude towards reading and, hopefully, a love of reading!
